Open Educational Resources

University of Okalahoma Libraries, Open Educational Resources

This is a good introduction to Open Educational Resources (OER) if you don't know much it yet.

The site provides a good description.  It explains the "5 Rs" of Open (Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix, and Redistribute).  There are also links to additional reading, which helps answer the question: "Why OER?"

Want to know more? There are a couple of nice videos, as well as a whole bunch of OER including links to may of the OER collections beyond what is available at OU.

This blew me away...
"According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, 7 in 10 students didn't purchase a textbook because it was too expensive." -Content from University of Oklahoma Libraries
