Library Staff Learn About Fire Safety

Library staff spent part of the break learning how to prepare for and handle a fire emergency.

Staff each had a turn with a fire extinguisher and gained practice on how to put out a simulated fire.

Thank you to SWC College Police and Emergency Management Officers Joe Martorano, Zach Jones, and Sergeant Joseph Bane for sharing your knowledge and experience!

Check It Out

August 2016 is Olympics Month!

Did you know that in the SWC Library E-Books Collection there's a great title emphasizing this theme to check out?

http://swcclibrary.swccd.edu/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=1G7190S6038C8.38019&profile=main--4&uri=link=3100007~!168016~!3100001~!3100002&aspect=subtab13&menu=search&ri=1&source=~!horizon&term=Olympic+media+%5Belectronic+resource%5D+%3A+inside+the+biggest+show+on+television+%2F&index=ALLTITL

It's called, Olympic Media: Inside the Biggest Show on Television. It was written by Andrew C. Billings and published in 2008.

It can be found through the SWC Library’s Search the Library Catalog webpage. Just type in the title in the search box and you can find it in the results list.

This book highlights the media coverage of the modern Olympics. Olympic Media discusses how broadcast television produces the summer and winter Olympics for national and international audiences.

Come to the Library to see more Olympics-related titles on display this month.

Cheers!
