This is a good introduction to Open Educational Resources (OER) if you don't know much it yet.

The site provides a good description.  It explains the "5 Rs" of Open (Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix, and Redistribute).  There are also links to additional reading, which helps answer the question: "Why OER?"  

Want to know more? There are a couple of nice videos, as well as a whole bunch of OER including links to may of the OER collections beyond what is available at OU.

Monday! Partial Solar Eclipse

In San Diego, the partial solar eclipse begins at 9:07 am. The eclipse will end at 11:47 am.

 

Warning! Never look directly at the sun during an eclipse without proper eye protection. 

It is not safe to look at an eclipse with regular sunglasses. DO NOT look at it through the camera lens on your phone without eye protection.

Here are some options to safety observe the sun during an eclipse:

 

Stop by the Library on Monday morning and view our display about the Solar Eclipse. Free solar eclipse glasses will be handed out at our Welcome Table (while supplies last). We also will have "out of this world" treats to keep you energized on your first day of classes.

 

 

Free Orientations for Online Students

Taking an online or hybrid class for the first time? Join us for an orientation! We also have online Zoom sessions, face-to-face orientations, and drop in help labs.

SWC Libraries closed Aug 4-20

SWC Libraries are closed August 4 - August 20, 2017 for intersession. Fall semester hours begin on Monday, August 21.
