New databases!
Southwestern College Library now offers access to Daily Life through History & World Cultures Today. This online electronic database provides information regarding the daily lives of people from civilizations and cultures of the past and the present.

Daily Life through History is an interwoven collection of primary documents, reference works, monographs, images, maps, illustrations, and time lines depicting essential activities of daily life across the globe and throughout history. This monumental product comprises fascinating yet simple detail.

For questions on dating customs in Indonesia to leisure time in Kenya, World Cultures Today provides the answers. Thematic organization makes studying a wealth of topics - arts, food, clothing, lifestyle, religion, holidays, language, worldview - simple and effective.

Do you need to practice your basic skills in Math, Reading or Writing? Looking for test preparation materials for nursing, paramedic, EMT, real estate or a civil service position? Southwestern College library can provide you with access to Learning Express Online Library database.

The Learning Express Library is an online collection of practice tests and study aides on a variety of topics. Just some of the many practice tests available include: ASVAB, GED, SAT & ACT preparation, law enforcement practice tests, TOEFL , and U.S. citizenship practice review.
The Learning Express Library also includes basic reading, writing, and math skills improvement for adults along with resume and interviewing success materials. A "skills improvement" section is also included with Spanish language instruction.


For access to all the practice tests, tutorials and other materials visit the library webpage http://www.swc.cc.ca.us/~library/articles.htm and select the Learning Express Online Practice Tests. The first time you use Learning Express, you will need to sign in as a “New User”. Enter in the account number ID 10258 and create you own username and password that will allow you use Learning Express from both on and off campus.
