Chinese Brush Painting Display in the Library
According to the Chinese Brush Painting Society of San Diego, "As artists, Chinese brush painters compare better with Western musicians than with Western painters" because of constant practice, virtuosity and interpretation establishing the artistry, and the necessity to be in complete command.
"You do not see a Chinese brush painter with brushes, paints and paper in front of a landscape scene. . . .Having absorbed the scene, (he) goes to the studio and paints from his mind."
Southwestern College Library is honored to host a display of this art, including the delicate pottery masterpieces of Amy Liu, from February 22 through April 23.
