The College Book for spring 2007 is . . . .
The book chosen in a campus-wide vote is Enrique's Journey, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning series from the L.A. Times about a 17-year old Honduran who enters the U.S. illegally to seek his mother who left home twelve years earlier.
The book received 60 of the 157 votes cast. Second place went to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan (40 votes), followed by Longitude (33 votes), and Frankenstein (24 votes).
Gary Creason, Vanesa Herrera, Gloria Pangelinan, Sandra Romero, and Damian Stevenson will each receive a copy of Enrique's Journey because they were winners of a drawing among all those who voted, no matter which book they voted for. They will be notified when the books have been ordered and received.
